Earlier this month, Ms. Kim Weaver from Georgia Power visited Mr. Rippy’s 8th grade science classes at GMS to teach the students about nuclear power and energy efficiency. Students learned about Georgia Power’s main electric generating plant, Plant Vogtle located near Waynesboro, GA, and they also completed activities about the periodic table of elements and nuclear power. At the end of the lesson, Ms. Weaver discussed with students how they could become more energy efficient, and save money on their energy bill, at home. The students were even able to sign up to receive a free energy efficiency kit delivered straight to their home. Thank you Ms. Weaver for visiting our students!
