
All MCSS Schools Closed for Remainder of 2019-2020 School Year
Good Afternoon:
Per Governor Kemp’s announced Executive Order (scheduled to be signed on Thursday, 4/2/2020 and effective Friday, 4/3/2020), Meriwether County Schools will close all schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Distance learning will continue for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, which ends on Friday, May 22, 2020.
Learning packets for students were distributed to students on Friday, March 13, 2020 and March 30-April 2, 2020. These learning packets will provide instruction through Friday, May 1, 2020. Spring Break (April 6-10, 2020) is an off-week with no instructional activities required during that time. Announcements will be made regarding the disbursement and collection of instructional packets beyond Friday, May 1, 2020.
An announcement regarding the continuation of the meal disbursements will be made tomorrow, 4/2/2020.
The health and well-being of our students and staff continues to be our top priority during this time of uncertainty regarding COVID-19. Meriwether County Schools will continue to follow the guidance of local and state health officials and will provide updates to keep the public informed.
