Girls with Pearls
This past month, Mrs. Racine Sales, the counselor at Greenville Middle School, created a new organization designed to guide and empower our young female students called Girls with P.E.A.R.L.S. (Poise, Elegance, and Responsible Leaders). Mrs. Sales will be working with these young ladies throughout the school year on a variety of topics, such as building social skills, community/school service, building self-esteem, education, etiquette, inner beauty, and empowerment.
The first cohort of Girls with P.E.A.R.L.S. includes the following young ladies:
6th Grade: Tyra Bray, Chardazya Favors, Kalyce Favors, Samiyah Hickman, Kenda Pugh
7th Grade: Brynecia Deering, Tashunti Jackson, Kamiya McCamey, Nadia Richardson
8th Grade: Quonyaniqui Favors, Ken’ya Goldwire, Sabryna Meehan, Tymeshia Mitchell, Za’niya Partridge, Shyerica Robinson
Their first team-building activity required the girls to not only develop a slogan and design a logo, but to also create their own shirts with this slogan and logo using the school’s new product development equipment, including a vinyl cutter and a heat press. Job well done ladies!
